Toronto interior decorator Holly Dyment has been featured, over the course of her twenty-five-year career, on television, in design and decorating magazines including Canadian House & Home and Style At Home and in Canada’s national newspaper, Toronto’s the Globe and Mail. While expert in overseeing every aspect of residential design, she is widely acclaimed for her fearless use of colour—on walls, ceilings, floors, cabinetry, upholstery and accessories—and her skill at mixing patterns and textures in a single room, a series of rooms, or an entire apartment or house. Her fine art background (she studied at Bennington College in Vermont) and training in graphic design have given her the tools to move beyond the use of conventional hues and old-school rules about which colours look ‘appropriate’ together. She loves the dazzling combination of orange and purple, for instance, or pink and red, or gray and lilac… the list goes on and on. After Holly’s worked her magic, the results are rooms that are inspiring, warm, modern and unique but, at the same time, ones that never look eccentric or—the worst sin—unlivable.
